We're a mixed Morris side founded in 2015 dancing in the North West tradition.
Over the summer we can often be found out and about around the Darlington and Cleveland areas or further afield, take a look at our calendar page for our upcoming dance outs.
When out we can be spotted across great distances in our brightly coloured kit, dancing in clogs and using garlands, sticks, slings, hankies and of course, plenty of bells.
North West Morris came out of the factory towns of Lancashire and Cheshire in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The dances were originally processional in style and would feature as part of local celebrations, particularly during Wake Weeks where the factories would be closed.
Usually danced in sets of four forming two lines, North West Morris is characterised by it's precise footwork, rant or polka stepping and neat formations with many modern teams dancing in clogs to really emphasise those steps.
